Scientific papers

Authors may submit a scientific paper to be published in the conference proceedings. All accepted papers will be accompanied by an oral presentation (and abstracts also published in the Book of Abstracts).

The book of proceedings will be published by IOS Press in the Studies in Health Technology and Informatics series (HTI) where previous AAATE conferences proceedings have been published between 1999 and 2017 (see AAATE proceedings published by IOS Press).

If the theme of a paper is related to any of the STS, please consider selecting the most relevant STS when submitting.

The review procedure is unified with the oral presentations, authors who wish to apply for a proceedings paper will be asked to indicate it when submitting their abstract.

Abstracts for scientific papers should be 2 pages (minimum) to 3 pages (maximum), A4 format, standard font size (12pt), single spaced and with 2 cm margins. Submission of a camera ready version is required for accepted contributions.

NB: 3 pages maximum includes everything (eg. references). It is still an abstract, it should not contain annexes. It’s a good idea to put in the major references of the paper (so reviewers can see that you have taken state of the art into account), but in a 3 pages abstract people are not expected to include 35 references. Keep them for the camera ready.

For accepted papers, a template will be provided to prepare camera ready papers, which are expected from 6 to 8 pages.

For submission deadlines please refer to the important dates page.
